The rule of thumb when it comes to eye makeup is to stay away from eye makeup that is the same color as your eyes. You also shouldn't match your eyeshadow to your outfit. definitely use GOLD because it looks great with both. LIGHT PINK would look elegant as well. if you already have BROWN, use it lightly but not too dark because you're already wearing brown. you could mix a little bit of GREEN with it, but not too much because you really shouldn't wear eye makeup that's the exact same color of your eye. anything will work with brown and green, be adventurous and have fun! ;-)
you can blend both without it being drastic. Sart with green in the corner of your eye and fade out into brown

Without thinking of color, think of lightness and darkness...
The darker shadow will add depth, the lighter shadow will make things stand out.
I like to use probably 3 shadows in total... but when using 4 I would say that you should use the lightest shadow on your inner lid and the middle shade on the outer lid. The darkest color can be used in the crease and also as a liner. I would use a cream/bone color as the highlight color. You never match your makeup to what you are wearing. You should wear the opposite color of your eyes. Since you have light brown eyes, I would suggest a violet or even an emerald color to off-set your eye color and make them stand out even more!

You never match your makeup to what you are wearing. You should wear the opposite color of your eyes. Since you have light brown eyes, I would suggest a violet or even an emerald color to off-set your eye color and make them stand out even more!

haha, i get exactly what your saying. i too am a green eyed girl. and i have gone to so many make up counters looking for the right colours and advice. i finally found some at MAC that are just INCREDIBLE. :P i had someone helping me, and i have a little bit of navy blue in mine too. so heres what i found
purples ( not to pinky, very pretty and can be worn in many diff. ways. i'll put beside them how to apply.)
*Idol Eyes, Parfait Amour, Digit, Purple Haze ( because they're pale, i like to use it on the eyelids, then to define my eyes some more i blend a black or a dark brown in my crease without letting it show about the crease to much.
Browns ( more on the coppery/ gold side because these colors bring out the blue and green in eyes)
*Amber lights, Honey Lust, Bronze, Honesty, Paradisco ( the darker colours can be worn on the lid for a bold look or in the crease as a way to define the eyes. the pales are worn on the lid and depending on the look your going for as a brow bone colour ( i would recomend tho :P )

I suggest just applying a neutral shimmer color on the lid and then applying on of your colored shadows in the crease. Then on the brow bone add a highlighter color. Well the purple idea can work.Try wetting the brush/applicator before you put it on. You can try Matte colors too. It sounds like you don't like shimmers. Also have you ever thought of using a bronzer? I love physician's formula! It may look really dark in the container but if you use a brush and put it on your cheek bones and your T-zone it looks great! Red based browns, coppers, orange-y colors, maroons, purples. Any thing that has a slight red shade to it, so choose a more red toned brown, versus a gray toned brown, you know what I mean? Also, for purples, use darker shades, like plums and eggplants.

I use Jane eyeshadow from the drugstore. The color is Hi Ho Silver. I have dark green eyes and fair skin. It makes them look awesome and smokey. I have Hazel eyes...that are more green than anything else...I LOVE Almay intense i-color for hazel eyes...its almost the same for green eyes, its a nice mixture pallet with a really nice pink, a nice brown and a nice light creme color that has a nice shimmer to it.....it tells you on the package how to apply it for the best results...also if you dont want to do that, use a lavender...it makes green POP so even if you use something so subtle as a lavender eyeliner and blend it in with a nice shade of pink, it would look great. and most eye shadows now have a hint of shimmer. here's the link for Almay intense i-color...I hope you like it!

Try a burgundy brown. That way you get the complementary contrast of red to green without the weirdness of the true red. I like MAC. It has a nice subtle glimmer. Another option, and the one I think works best, is get an inexpensive kit with a lot of different colors. They often have them for sale around the holidays. I use Jane eyeshadow from the drugstore. The color is Hi Ho Silver. I have dark green eyes and fair skin. It makes them look awesome and smokey. I have Hazel eyes...that are more green than anything else...I LOVE Almay intense i-color for hazel eyes...its almost the same for green eyes, its a nice mixture pallet with a really nice pink, a nice brown and a nice light creme color that has a nice shimmer to it.....it tells you on the package how to apply it for the best results...also if you dont want to do that, use a lavender...it makes green POP so even if you use something so subtle as a lavender eyeliner and blend it in with a nice shade of pink, it would look great. and most eye shadows now have a hint of shimmer. here's the link for Almay intense i-color...I hope you like it!

Try a burgundy brown. That way you get the complementary contrast of red to green without the weirdness of the true red. I like MAC. It has a nice subtle glimmer. haha, i get exactly what your saying. i too am a green eyed girl. and i have gone to so many make up counters looking for the right colours and advice. i finally found some at MAC that are just INCREDIBLE. :P i had someone helping me, and i have a little bit of navy blue in mine too. so heres what i found
purples ( not to pinky, very pretty and can be worn in many diff. ways. i'll put beside them how to apply.)
*Idol Eyes, Parfait Amour, Digit, Purple Haze ( because they're pale, i like to use it on the eyelids, then to define my eyes some more i blend a black or a dark brown in my crease without letting it show about the crease to much.
Browns ( more on the coppery/ gold side because these colors bring out the blue and green in eyes)
*Amber lights, Honey Lust, Bronze, Honesty, Paradisco ( the darker colours can be worn on the lid for a bold look or in the crease as a way to define the eyes. the pales are worn on the lid and depending on the look your going for as a brow bone colour ( i would recomend tho :P )

I suggest just applying a neutral shimmer color on the lid and then applying on of your colored shadows in the crease. Then on the brow bone add a highlighter color. Really I think you should just buy a few colors that suite your skin and play around with them before. I also have fair skin and turn very red/pink when I get embarrassed. So occasionally I wear a lot of powder...which isn't good and doesn't help. Sometimes I use this green powder stuff that supposedly makes red neutral. Hopefully I helped a bit!

Also have you ever thought of using a bronzer? I love physician's formula! It may look really dark in the container but if you use a brush and put it on your cheek bones and your T-zone it looks great! Red based browns, coppers, orange-y colors, maroons, purples. Any thing that has a slight red shade to it, so choose a more red toned brown, versus a gray toned brown, you know what I mean? Also, for purples, use darker shades, like plums and eggplants.

I have Hazel eyes...that are more green than anything else...I LOVE Almay intense i-color for hazel eyes...its almost the same for green eyes, its a nice mixture pallet with a really nice pink, a nice brown and a nice light creme color that has a nice shimmer to it.....it tells you on the package how to apply it for the best results...also if you dont want to do that, use a lavender...it makes green POP so even if you use something so subtle as a lavender eyeliner and blend it in with a nice shade of pink, it would look great. and most eye shadows now have a hint of shimmer. here's the link for Almay intense i-color...I hope you like it!

Try a burgundy brown. That way you get the complementary contrast of red to green without the weirdness of the true red. I like MAC. It has a nice subtle glimmer. Another option, and the one I think works best, is get an inexpensive kit with a lot of different colors. They often have them for sale around the holidays. but (any shade) purple violet gold brown pink colors nice and soft really bring out green eyes! goodluck

btw blue white grey etc. makes green eyes look washed out and more brownish hazels so stay away from blue!!

Use an olive colored liner, if you must use eyeliner. Then use a green that most matches your eyes around the lash line. You don't actually need to use eyeliner, because it's a little harsh. Instead, you can just brush the darker color where you'd usually put the liner. Softer look and brightens your face. Then use a slightly lighter shade of green above it on the lid. Put the same color you used on your lash line in the crease of your lid. Blend it a little. Finish it off with dark brown mascara, so it doesn't look too harsh. You can also mix brown liner with green shadow, and brown shadow looks good too. Don't use a really dark brown though, because it will make your eyes look smaller and less noticeable. You don't want really dark eyes with blonde hair.
Simply, just follow the colorwheel. Greens go well with colors like light pink, peach, reds, purples, and oranges.

Use an olive colored liner, if you must use eyeliner. Then use a green that most matches your eyes around the lash line. You don't actually need to use eyeliner, because it's a little harsh. Instead, you can just brush the darker color where you'd usually put the liner. Softer look and brightens your face. Then use a slightly lighter shade of green above it on the lid. Put the same color you used on your lash line in the crease of your lid. Blend it a little. Finish it off with dark brown mascara, so it doesn't look too harsh. You can also mix brown liner with green shadow, and brown shadow looks good too. Don't use a really dark brown though, because it will make your eyes look smaller and less noticeable. You don't want really dark eyes with blonde hair.
Simply, just follow the colorwheel. Greens go well with colors like light pink, peach, reds, purples, and oranges.

Try a light brown (like a sand color) from crease to brow; cover your lid in a medium purple (about the color of an iris when it blooms), then just in the crease apply a dark purple lightly. Been experimenting with makeup for 20 years, green eyes can pretty much be complimented by any color, just don't go overboard with the colors, but for the most part, if you wear green shadows, your eyes can look more blue and if you wear a blue, your green eyes'll pop!! Basic browns compliment most skin tones and that's probably where your problem lies... try to compliment your skin instead of your eyes and you'll solve your problem... Light skin, stick with browns... dark skin, add the purples and pinks...

Well, any color pretty much looks good on me(not trying to sound cocky), but if you're having trouble, always go for purple, purple/blue, purple/pink, or pink. My favorite thing to do to bring out my eyes is to put lilac shadow on from lid to crease. Highlight brow bone with shimmery translucent powder. Line and smudge your lower lids with a dark purple. It'll be gorgeous!

ur lucky.. because really dark colours go on people with coloured eyes. i think you should go with dark browns and balcks.. i think it will look great and will help bring the colour of ur eyes out alot.. good luck

it depends i use brown and Little bit of all most purple and it works really good just go light and not dark hoped i helped
Loreal makes a nice quad shadow, that has browns in it. I believe one of the colors is fawn, or doe. That is what I use.

Yay, someone with the same eyes as me!!! Well, any color pretty much looks good on me(not trying to sound cocky), but if you're having trouble, always go for purple, purple/blue, purple/pink, or pink. My favorite thing to do to bring out my eyes is to put lilac shadow on from lid to crease. Highlight brow bone with shimmery translucent powder. Line and smudge your lower lids with a dark purple. It'll be gorgeous!
